18 (-) The Associates—Party Fears Two*
19 (13) Sheena Easton—9 to 5*
20 (-) Deacon Blue—Bacharach and David EP

*Has received at least one vote in the Best AND Worst Single categories (The Krankies culprit has already been named and shamed on the Pop Pourri page and on Radio Scotland!)

And the Party Fears Two backlash kicks in! Our long term number one in the Best chart is starting to pick up a few Worst votes. Mike Boyle popped into Virtual HQ to tell us it was 'Wailing, overwrought, over-produced, nonsensical and self-indulgent’. Now Mike thinks these are criticisms; I’m not so sure.

The Proclaimers follow a good week in main chart with an assault on the Shitfest this week and Lulu is back with a vengeance. Owen Paul was mentioned by name by Fred McAulay chatting to The Cat and we blame Fred for Owen’s appearance here collectively stirring the nation’s memory of how annoying that song was/is.

We nearly got a Lena Zavaroni vote this week but that was changed to Franz Ferdinand at the last minute. That’s very interesting, isn’t it?

Dave, Stats Bunker

This is disgraceful.

Surely the Andy Stewart votes should be for 'Donald, Where's Yer Troosers'?
