Post-Chart Analysis from Dave in the Stats Bunker:
A busy week but a steady one as our Top 6 all stay put. Big movers are The Rezillos and Roddy Frame’s debut solo single both making an assault on the higher parts of the chart. Another good week for the city of Donday as both AWB and Club Country go higher. That and of course the continuing No 1.
The Bandits are back again. One week here one week out, one week here one week out. Bit like the managers office at Tynecastle, but tuneful and tasteful.
Where the hell did "Upside Down" come from? This time last week it was a footnote, this week it’s our highest new entry and our highest ever debutant since we went to a Top 75. This is because I said in my Top 10 that no one really knew it at the time, isn’t it?
We’re doing a huge chart next week so keep them coming. I really need to know what you think is the best single ever. I want to do you and the girl in 2a that had the triplets.
