Post-Chart Analysis from Dave in the Stats Bunker:
This is weird. First new chart of the year and whilst the Top 10 is reasonably stable , there’s chaos elsewhere. Big news up the top end is Big Country’s march into the Top 5.
A little further down and both the Trashcan Sinatras and This Mortal Coil are on the rise and whilst Party Fears Two remains the unofficial national anthem (the new Scotland football manager MUST know all the words!), Club Country makes the Top 30 at last. Biggest movers of all are the 19 place jumps for Simple Minds’s rolled-up-sleeve Rawk moment (Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!) and for Travis’ meteorological anthem which struck a chord with so many this week. (For those of you from outside Scotland, it has been raining a lot this week. Whadya mean, what’s new? Even for here, it’s been chucking it down).
The bottom end of the Top 75 sees two new entries and a re-entry and there’s a few more breaking through. Look out for more Josef K, Skids and the appearance of H20 a this rate. Inevitable given the strength and spread of votes for both the Cocteaus and The Greatest Living Scotsman (That’s Sir Edwyn of Collins to you mere mortals) that we get their tracks at 73 and 74. But our number 75? This is part of a conspiracy by Debbie at the Wet Wet Wet forum. I thought you said you were giving up on this Debbie? (Dave, I suspect Debbie has turned her attentions to the “real” chart now that they’ll let any old tosh in!)
Is that Steve’s jacket you’re wearing?

To be completely honest there weren't enough votes this week to merit a new chart. We've been lucky with the number of votes coming in but it's just been a barren week.
We didn't want to just move some round for the sake of it.
There will definitley be a new chart on Sunday.
Thanks for your concern, we're touched!!

For reasons we won't go in to I got it too late last night to put it up. It should be up early this evening. _________________ www.jocknroll.co.uk - The Great Jock 'n' Roll Album - Have You Voted? |
