Thought I'd look at the albums in a similar way to I used on the singles.
Most common decade is once more the 80s with 33 out of the 60, next are the 90s with 14, followed by the 00s with 8 and 70s with 5. This is fairly closely in line with the split on the singles chart - so no benefit from the Life on Mars effect for the 70s
The most prominent individual year is 1987 with 7 and this is followed by 1984 and 1989 with 6 a piece. No other year has more than 3. As against the singles this is about 2-3 years later than the peak which would tie in with people initially buying singles and then albums.
There's a run of years between 1978 and 1991 where there is at least one album from each of them. Then there are no appearances for 1992 - 1994 - I leave the interpretation of that up to others |

Those were the years I was most active in bands in Scotland. Christ we still couldn't get anywhere!
