P.S. Don't use "Text Speak". It's irritating and shows a lack of education and, besides, we're all old farts on here who can't understand it. _________________ www.jocknroll.co.uk - The Great Jock 'n' Roll Album - Have You Voted? |

Just to say thanks to you both for adding to my list of geeky arse sites that I have to visit on a daily basis due to some weird OCD.
Also looking forward to the excitement each week of the chart update as I've pretty much given up on the other one (just one of those things to do with age I suppose).
Keep up the good work |

The pleasure is all ours.
We'd love to geta book out of the results of this site but at the end of the day it wouldn't really matter because we're having so much fun. That's not to say we haven't put a lot of hard work into.
Dave and I, like most people of a certain age, have a passion for great music, as well as putting it into listss over a few libations in a local hostelry.
Glad you like the site. I get excited about the chart too because Dave's the Stat man and he puts it together.
Gawd bless you guv'nor.

such a great site, Cat-man! I've been regretting leaving out a couple of choices since I voted. Grrr...."don't you forget about me" is seminal from my early teens!!! How could I have left it out. regret regret regret.
Still...don't know which I'd throw off my list to get that one up. I'm letting it go. "Let go, let God." That's what Sister Paula always said. Then again, that's before she fell in love with a priest and left the order. They both did, actually. Then they married. Wonder if their still together. Hmm...how does the now Ms. Paula feel about Simple Minds?... |

Every top ten is wrong the moment it's cast. Every time I've looked at the chart I've seen something and thought 'Of course!' And I struggled with the one song per artist bit.
Still I'm disappointed that the top ten worst still missing Belfast Child - much as I would vote for a number of Simple Minds tracks as great (I Travel e.g.) it just feels that one was the spelling of p-o-m-p-o-u-s s-h-i-t-e |

NS,
I know that Mrs Cat hasn't voted yet and "Belfast Child" is definitely in the running for her Worst vote. Pompous, overblown, bombastic ...but that's enough about her!!!
As I said to Giselle elsewhere, the career of Simple Minds can be split into two with "Don't You Forget About Me" the dividing line. I can handle almost anything before that, after it...forget it. Why did they think they could cover "Sign Of the Times"? It's up there with Duran Duran's covers album!

I can think of few other bands that are as schizophrenic as Simple Minds. How can one band produce a run of five albums which stand as some of the best and most artistic post punk music ( RTRC, Empires, Sons/Sisters, NGD) and then......mutate into a horrid pastich of some of the worst Amerikan Rawk pap ever produced?? (Dont You, BC, Let The Children Speak!!??? et al).
Go Figure....cos I sure can't!
