Post-Chart Analysis from Dave in the Stats Bunker:

Welcome back to Belle and Sebastian—about bloody time! Hi to Chris Kelly whose nitpicking on belle and Sebastian put even The Cat and I , the pedant’s pedants to shame! Only joking Chris, we embrace your pedantry.

Only one new entry this week with a welcome debut appearance from Horse at number 50. Biggest climber this week is from Dundee’s second finest as “Mary’s Prayer” jumps 14 big Jock ‘n’ Roll places. The late Stuart Adamson had three tracks in the Top 20 last week but this week they’re all in the Top 10. Also, his football team don’t have a manager. No, we can’t make that link either. It is interesting though, isn’t it? No, okay, it’s not. (Dave’s been spending too long in the Stats bunker methinks—The Cat)

In the real world “Love Is All Around” stayed at number 1 for umpteen weeks. In the Jock ‘n’ Roll parallel universe it stalls at 33. One more reason why Jock ‘n’ Roll is better than real life.

It’s been a good week for Camera Obscura and 10% of our chart features Edwyn Collins. If you see Edwyn, give him our love and if you see anyone else, get them to vote.

And that’s not how you spell Caracas anyway!

(Dave, 29 October 2006) NEW CHART: SUNDAY 5 NOV 2006
