Is it just me or do Scottish local commercial radio stations pay lip service to new local bands?
I can only speak for Forth One, as that's all we listen to in the office at work, but I think they haven't got a clue about local music scenes. Fife has a burgeoning scene with a multitude of bands coming through but if they think that local radio will support them they can forget it. They only started playing the likes of The View after they'd made it.
I'd like to hear from people who listen to other stations as to which ones do and do not support new local artists. I know Leith FM does as I've tuned in a few times to that too.
We'd like to put together a list of radio shows for new artists to listen to and contact.
Let us know what you think. _________________ www.jocknroll.co.uk - The Great Jock 'n' Roll Album - Have You Voted? |
