Post-Chart Analysis from Dave in the Stats Bunker:
Well folks, positions are starting to harden up a little as the sheer number of votes means that big moves are harder to come by. No change with the Top 2 and numbers 3 to 5 shuffle like The Cat’s brother-in-law does to “I Travel”, which is back at number 41. It’s also a good week for the Trashcan Sinatras as they make it back to the Top 10.
Also a good week for Lloyd Cole and the Commotions who come back with a bullet at 30 and still enjoying great success in our chart is Edwyn Collins, with almost all of the tracks he’s involved in moving up.
There are only two completely new tracks make the Top 50: the best single Shirley Manson was ever involved in is in at 40 whilst “Song To The Siren” (eligible due to the dominance of Cocteau Twins on the song) has been picking up votes steadily and finally makes the breakthrough.
Have the Wets peaked? Vote and tell us. The fate of these and all other Scottish singles ever release remains in your hands.
Have you washed your hands?
