Errr

1. The Pastels - 9 times
2. The Pogues - 8 times

Err...ummm

Apart from that the only people I've seen more than twice are Billy Bragg, The Wedding Present, the House of Love, American Music Club, the Go Betweens and Firehose.

Oh and I saw Idlewild 3 times before they had a single out. They're OK now but my god were they ever pish when they started.

Don't know exactly how many times, but it must be getting close to 20 for Billy Bragg.

Morrissey, Lloyd Cole, Martin Stephenson, REM, Echo & The Bunnymen,New Order, Tindersticks and Nick Cave have been seen umpteen times.

Used to go and see Friends Again a lot in the 80s. Saw Carter USM loads in the 90s.

Saw The Smiths five times.

The Jam and The Style Council must be around ten concerts - but I've never see Weller as a solo artist (don't want to either).

Have seen Sons & Daughters four times in the past two years (three times as support acts). Of other new bands, been to see Maximo Park four times and been lucky enough to see Arctic Monkeys twice.

Band that I never saw and regret it - Magazine.

Legend that I never saw and regret it - Johnny Cash

Best ticket for a concert that was subsequently postponed and never re-scheduled - Nirvana

One of the strangest bills I ever saw was the Cocteau Twins supporting The Fall at Night Moves in Glasgow in either 1981 or 1982.

Also happy to admit that I've also lost the plot at a few Basement Jaxx concerts

Top 10 gigs - now that would be even more difficult to pin down that Top 10 Scottish singles. I do know that No.1 would be The Smiths/Red Guitars at Glasgow QMU - 1983 I think. Mass hysteria.

Belle and Sebastian. I lost count. I think it's at 19 or 20. But what's MORE impressive is that I've seen them in: Hollywood, Berkely, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Indo/Palm Spring, London, and Sheffield.

Radiohead is a close second, but I can't remember how many times it's been. I will say that I planned an entire European/UK vacation around tickets that I impulsively bought for a show in Manchester, sitting late one night on my computer in Long Beach, CA. I figured, "Well, I've got the tickets. Guess I should plan a trip, now."

Very Happy

Haven't been out gigging so much since the wee guy came along but...

The Real Tuesday Weld about fifteen.
The Cult, Spear of Destiny, Sisters of Mercy, Billy Bragg, Glenn Tilbrook, River Detectives, The Cure, Cocteau Twins about ten each.
Motorhead, Pulp, John Adams, Steve Reich, Echo and the Bunnymen, and New Order a couple of times.
I saw the Bhundu Boys, Buena vista social Clubs first uk gig, big Country's last english gig, and saw Belle and Sebastian without realising who they were.

and lots more besides

Big Country - saw them 15 times live - the last being the farewell concert at the Barras.

Always amazing and the crowds were always good from Edinburgh to Livingston and Glasgow, from Birmingham to Liverpool every concert was superb.

Can't remember the exact number of times but I've seen Snow Patrol several times. Had to force myself not to go to the SECC gig later this month as it was getting silly, but they're one of my favourite live bands just now. In my younger days I saw the Cocteau Twins several times.

Saw BC 7 or 8 times since 1986. Always remained a fan even when the airplay began to wane.........now there is a band with a die hard following if ever there was a band.........
If you can, try catch the porrohman tribute video on www.youtube.com it is a work of art. I am in no way connected to the bloke who did it, I just sit back and admire the tribute........
It is coming up 5 years since Stuart Adamsons death..............we must have BC on the radio for that!

Saw one of Big Country's earliest gigs - Level 8 of Strathclyde Yooni in 1983. It was the time of the band dressing in tartan shirts and three-quarter length canvas trousers.

Can't remember the name of the support band, but I'm sure a nephew or cousin of Stuart was involved with them.

I recall being well impressed as it was just as energetic as the one Skids gig I had previously been to. But I never imagined that BC would become so successful in so short a time.

hmmm...

Trashcan Sinatras 7 times (5 in SF, 2 times in Austin)
Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers (Greg Dulli) 5 times (2 times Austin, 2 times SF, 1 Glesga)
Sons & Daughters 4 times (also in the past 2 years, 3 times SF, 1 Glesga)
oooh, probably some Texan artist like Robert Earl Keen 3 or 4 times all in Texas...

I'll probably increase the numbers of the first 3... I've been to quite a few bands two and three times... can't wait to see the Church again, best show of 2006 for me

Cheers, Craig.

Probably saw the Pastels more than I saw any other band in the 80s, when I had all the time in the world to go and watch the most frustrating band in the world. Also saw the Thanes tons - saw them again last year and they're still a dynamite rock'n'roll experience.

Scottish bands I've seen the most would be:
The Crows - seriously more times than I can fathom, I would say easily 20 gigs minimum....
Balaam & The Angel - about 15 times.
Horse (the band) - 20 or so methinks easily
Horse (solo) - again, around 20 methinks
Big Country - 10ish

Other bands I've seen loads:
Underneath What - over 50 times
The Sandkings - 30ish
The Cult - 10 or so

I've stopped the obsession asI've gotten older, so now I don't do tours or owt...must've grown up...that is wrong!! lol

I actually saw them a couple of times thanks to a schoolfriend who was in to them. Not my cup of tea but I do recall they were supported once by a band called Lixx!

Comes to us all Des. Why do you think we put this site together? To recapture a youth lost a long time ago.
