Post-Chart Analysis:

A great week for the Cocteau Twins as their fans finally get their head round the rules. Arab Strap also have a good week with their classic debut making a Bob Beamon-like leap whilst loads of their other singles are getting votes now. Lloyd Cole finally relinquishes the No 18 spot and Travis turn up to the party with Texas. Love and Money make the 47 spot their very own as do Franz Ferdinand at number 7. The late great Stuart Adamson has 3 tracks in the top 20 whilst people finally wake up and realise that there was more than one Associates single. The Jesus and Mary Chain and Teenage Fanclub votes also splinter and their biggest singles fall accordingly. People actually do like that Wet Wet Wet single after all. Mind you, you haven’t seen the updated worst chart yet. And welcome to the Camera Obscura block vote!

Time for a moan.

Dave and I have put a lot of work into this site, doing something we have a great passion for. Yet just recently I've encountered a lot of negativity from certain individuals on certain website forums.

Okay, if you're not interested in the poll fare enough, don't bother voting but also don't bother making snidey little comments that would be more appropriate if they came from the mouth of an 8-year old.

I'm not going to give these sites the satisfaction of publicising them especially as I know that it is only a minority of their members that are so negative. It's not fair to tar everyone with the same brush. Perhaps when this poll is over I'll name and shame the people who were less than helpful in our pursuit of trying to produce something that we believe is interesting and informative and has brought a lot of people into discussions about the greatness of Scottish music.

I was always taught that if you can't say anything good, then don't say anything at all. I'm all for people having opinions but downright rudeness I cannot stand.

There, that feels better.
