I have to confess that after the demise of Two-Tone I didn't know where I was going musically, I was drifting.
Then I got drawn into the Saturday afternoon world of America's Top 30 on Radio 1, presented by Paul GAmba...Gammi...Gimpy...Gambaccini. I was sucked into a world of poodle perms and power ballads.
Before I knew where I was, I was singing along to Huey Lewis and the News B-sides and Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl". I was taping John "Cougar" Mellencamp's "Jack and Diane" on my first tape recorder ("little ditty about JAck and Diane, two kids growing up in the heart land") and tracking "Tainted Love's" remarkable slow progress up the billboard chart (It eventually spent 40 weeks on the Hot 100, a record).
I did recently willingly and with malice aforethought put REO Speedwagon's "Keep On Loving You" on to my mp3.
My Top 10 Guilty Pleasures are:
REO Speedwagon Keep On Loving You
Journey Whos Crying Now
Asia Heat of the Moment
Huey Lewis and the News Do You Believe In Love
Men At Work Who Can It Be Now
Britney Spears I Was Born To Make You Happy
ELO Dont Bring Me Down
Toto Africa
Rainbow I Surrender
Shania Twain Gonna Get You Good
Mind you, when that phase passed things went from bad to worse...I went through a six-month Goth phase - I still have my Rose of Avalanche "LA Rain" 12". It never rains but it pours..."in the rain, in the rain, in the LA rain". _________________ www.jocknroll.co.uk - The Great Jock 'n' Roll Album - Have You Voted? |

Quite a few of your choices are pleasures for me as well.
Other possible ten
Single Bed - Fox
Life in a Northern Town - Dream Academy
Northern Lights - Renaissance
Black Man Ray - China Crisis
Just What I always Wanted - Mari Wilson
Jump - Van Halen -(though the Roddy Frame cover version even better)
Out Of My Head - Kylie (though the Paul Morley book on this nearly justifies it)
Cherish - Madonna
Tin Of A friendly Card - Alan Parker Project
Born To Be Alive - Patrick Hernandez
Off to hide in shame now |

There is no shame in loving all things Kylie - do you not remember Lord Robert of Gillespie frolicking on a bed with her in a photoshoot years ago? I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky.
As for my own True Confessions - my i-pod contains, among others, this nasty 10 among 4219 songs-
Chewing Gum - Annie
Let Me Take You There - Betty Boo
I Miss You - Blink 182
Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue - Crystal Gayle
Girls on Film - Duran Duran
Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind & Fire
Superstar - Jamelia
Ruby, Don't take Your Love To Town - Kenny Rogers
Into The Groove - Madonna
Chant No.1 - Spandau Ballet
Overload - Sugababes
So that's a 0.12% chance of them coming up on shuffle..... |

No shame in that, The Gambler's on mine.........
as well as Owen Paul's My Favourite Waste of Time and the theme tune to Are You Being Served? That's the last time I let the Cat mess about with it and load some tunes.
I know it's wrong but I like Bryan Adams Summer of '69 No wait, come back.
Interesting that The Vinyl Villain mentioned Spandau Ballet. I once got a friend of a friend to tape (ah! remember those?) Spandau Ballet's Greatest Hits for me and I kept it hidden in a different cassette case so nobody knew I had it. |

Guilty pleasure for me would be Take that and girls aloud( just certain singles though- i dont own any albums by them ). They satisfy my pure pop craving and Girls aloud are great to look at. |

Scottish guilty pleasure... I know it's crap and I don't care... Hipsway, the Honeythief... I still dig it...
oooh, how about Player's Baby Come Back or Ambrosia's How Much I Feel... or Hall & Oates' Out Of Touch... hehe _________________ a displaced poofish Scottish-Texan in Cali
