| Just found the site after reading about it in Product magazine. Why no 39 Lyon Street in the Artist list? Ideas anybody? |

It might be because we've either (a) never heard of them or (b) never been told about them!!
When we upgrade the site for the launch of the album poll we'll add them. Can you tell us some more about them, please?

I'll try. 39 Lyon Street was a masquerade for The Associates. Don't know where the name comes from for sure, but I'll wager it's somewhere in Dundee?
They released one single under the name, 1981 I think, and it was a cover of Simon Dupree & The Big Sound's classic 'Kites'.
Let me know if you want a Cd-r of it. Too late for the Top 50 now, but it looks like it maybe would only have got the one vote anyway... |

| 39 Lyon Street was apparently where Billy and Alan lived when they recorded the song. I used to live in the next street up but was unaware at the time that the neighbourhood was in the the running for the first Jock n Roll blue plaque. Now there's an idea: Where else are the historic sites for Scottish music. Any ideas folks? |
